The project was structured into three components to improve people’s access to health services and reduce morbidity and mortality among pregnant women and people with hypertension. The first component updates the clinical protocols for hypertension and prenatal care to reflect the specificities of these territories located in underserved regions of the Legal Amazon. The second expands connectivity in primary care units (UBSs) to strengthen the use of telehealth. The third tests user interaction via WhatsApp to increase self-care and adherence to treatments

Outcome

60% of the population with hypertension having their blood pressure measured within the last six months, 70% of pregnant women completing six or more prenatal consultations. A new model for the prenatal and hypertension care pathways for each municipality

6

Technical Cooperation Agreements signed with participating municipalities (Belterra, Aveiro, Curuá, Itaituba, Oriximiná, and Santarém), ensuring institutional adherence and local co-responsibility

100%

completion of situational assessments on care pathways (prenatal and hypertension) and on the level of digitalization of UBSs in the municipalities, all delivered on time
