Beneficiary population
227,000 girls aged nine to fourteen and women aged 25 to 64 across ten municipalities in the Caucaia–CE region.
Developed by the Grupo Mulheres do Brasil, the initiative seeks to contribute to the elimination of cervical cancer mortality by 2030. Carried out in the health region of Caucaia (CE), which spans ten municipalities, the project combines community mobilization, the integration of health and education, and the use of technology to expand HPV vaccination coverage, increase screening via Pap smears, and ensure continuity of care for individuals with abnormal test results.
The strategy features its own digital platform, which supports active tracking, smart scheduling for exams, indicator monitoring, and decision-making within the territories. In 2025, the project developed actions across all ten municipalities, with a more robust operation in eight of them. Five municipalities exceeded vaccination coverage targets for both girls and boys, and active tracking for screening exams reached 50% of the target audience.
Digital dashboards were also implemented to monitor vaccination rates and Pap smear results in eight locations. The year also marked the development of the Observatory and the JUH chatbot, solutions that expand access to information for healthcare professionals and support decision-making through artificial intelligence. More than 2,000 Basic Health Unit (UBS) professionals and Community Health Agents were trained to use the project’s tools, in addition to over 2,000 individuals trained as multipliers across three territories.
Eradication of mortality from the disease among women in the region by 2030, and achievement of 80% HPV vaccination coverage among girls aged nine to fourteen, and 40% screening coverage, by 2026.
