Mais Dados Mais Saúde is an innovation program for health data collection, carried out by Umane and Vital Strategies, in technical partnership with the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and with support from Instituto Devive and Resolve to Save Lives.
The program is based on the premise that deeply understanding the challenges faced is the first step toward strengthening more equitable and effective public policies for the entire Brazilian population. By generating more data, it becomes possible to support public management in decision-making processes that help ensure health reaches everyone.
After two successful editions of Covitel (2022 and 2023), a telephone survey focused on noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors, the partner organizations identified the opportunity to expand their efforts in fostering innovation in the collection and strategic use of health data. Mais Dados Mais Saúde focuses on innovation through two pillars: (i) testing effective data collection methodologies and (ii) monitoring emerging or underexplored topics.
